ALL AN INFAMOUS ARMY COVER RATINGS

This one is super-foreboding, with the heavy storm clouds gathering, and I love the symbolism, especially since a certain feeling of imminent dread pervades the book in the lead up to the inevitable clash at Waterloo. Babs appears to be blonde here, which is all wrong, but the low décolletage of her dress is totally on brand; the uniform Charles is wearing feels right in cut, if not in colour; and his hat is a thing of beauty.    A-
