Georgette Heyer’s sixth published short story is one of her best, in which the impetuous Kenneth attempts to convince his outraged father to support his engagement to the artistic Ursula in a quite unusual way.

And it was accompanied by this drawing, which gives us Ursula mollifying Kenneth’s justly outraged father:
